Located in the Namib Naukluft Park, the largest conservation area in Africa, and fourth largest in the world - surely one of the most spectacular sights in Namibia.The sand dunes of Sossus vlei in the Namib Desert are often referred to as the highest dunes in the world!

Day 1-2

Your fly-in safari begins! The flight will head out in a south-westerly direction towards the breathtaking Sossus Vlei area, to the Wolwedans Dunes Lodge!

'Vlei' is the Afrikaans word for a shallow depression filled with water (well, a depression that might sometimes be filled with water!), and the name 'Sossusvlei' should strictly only be applied to the pan that lies at the place where the dunes close in, preventing the waters of the  Tsauchab River from flowing any further - that is, on the rare occasions that the river does flow as far as this. During exceptional rainy seasons, Sossusvlei may fill with water, causing Namibians to flock there to witness the grand sight, but normally it is bone dry. This particular 'vlei' is actually a more-or-less circular, hard-surfaced depression that is almost entirely surrounded by sharp-edged dunes, beyond which lies a formidable sea of rolling sand, stretching in unbroken immensity all the way to the coast. The best time to view Sossusvlei is close to sunrise and sunset; the colors are strong and constantly changing, allowing for wonderful photographic opportunities.

Wolwedans (translated in English: "Dancinf Wolves"), providing a unique experience close to nature, without compromising any comfort and style. Capture the desert in an intimate and memorable way. Activities are many and varied, but all equally exciting! Your pilot guide will introduce you to the many facets of the desert with its diverse fauna and flora. Arial flights over these dunes is something seen and experienced by a select few!

Day 3

Morningbreakfast is followed by another stunning scenic flight over Sosus Vlee, heading north-east towards Windhoek.

  • Please note that this is not a normal Air Charter. All Fly-in Safaris as a holistic experience from beginning to end. The Pilot is an experienced, knowledgeable and qualified Safari Guide that will guide and provide information throughout the trip, both in the air and on the ground
  • during excursion and activities. Full intercom headsets are provided in the aircraft so as to communication with the Guide as well as each other.
  • During flights from area to area the routing follows scenic landscape and other highlights so as to provide a complete experience, both
  • from the skies and on the ground. Guests can enjoy complete flexibility with regards to departure and arrival times as the pilot/guide
  • always accompanies the guests.  The aircraft also stays with the group for the duration of the Safari, providing additional evacuation possibilities or change in Safari plans as may be requested by the guests.
