Day 1 & 2 Etosha National Park is one of Southern Africa's finest and most important Game Reserves. Etosha Game park was declared a National Park in 1907 and covering an area of 22 270 square km, it is home to 114 mammal species, 340 bird species, 110 reptile species, 16 amphibian species and, surprisingly, one species of fish.Believed to have originated over 12 million years ago as a shallow lake, Etosha is said to have the tallest Elephants in Africa, (up to 4m at the shoulder), Etosha is recognised as being one of the last wild sanctuaries of the endangered Black Rhino.
A San (Bushman) legend about the formation of the Etosha Pan tells of how a village was raided and everyone but the women slaughtered. One woman was so upset about the death of her family she cried until her tears formed a massive lake. When the lake dried up nothing was left apart from a huge white pan. The game viewing in Etosha National Park is excellent; you can expect to see many buck species, elephant, giraffe, rhino and lions. More fortunate visitors will see leopard and cheetah. A series of waterholes along the southern edge of the pan guarantee rewarding and often spectacular viewing!
Morning departure and arrival at Onkoshi Camp.Onkoshi Camp is situated on the edge of the pan on a private peninsula in Etosha National Park. Onkoshi Camp is a small, intimate and environmentally friendly camp that can accommodate a maximum of only 30 guests, ensuring a private and exclusive safari experience. Onkoshi Camp offers breathtaking views over the Etosha pan, spectacular sunsets and vast open spaces as far as the eye can see. Facilities at Onkoshi Camp are luxurious combined with exciting wildlife activities.
Onkoshi Camp offers luxurious accommodation. All rooms are built on raised wooden decks, with thatched roofs, canvas walls and large, wooden-framed retractable doors providing magnificent views. Facilities at Onkoshi Camp include a Restaurant, a Lounge, Bar, Sunset deck as well as an Infinity pool.

All guided game drives are conducted in specially modified land-rovers, using professional and experienced guides who will share their knowledge of the wonders of nature with guests. Etosha National Park is one of the largest conservation areas in Africa and is world famous for its spectacular plains game and general wildlife including elephant, black and white rhinoceros, lion, leopard, cheetah, large herds of springbok, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and a multitude of other fascinating wildlife species.
Day 3 & 4 Upon your arrival, we depart from Windhoek to fly across the Namibia/Botswana border to Maun. After the immigration stop we fly a scenic route over the Okavango Delta.
The Okavango Delta has three distinct sectors, The Pan-Handle - a +/- 70km stretch of the Okavango River from where the river enters Botswana until it fans out; the Permanent swamp is the area that has water throughout the year and the Seasonal Swamp where the annual flood plays the major role in influencing the water levels. An extension of the Great African Rift, the entire region lies in what is called Kalahari Basin .It occupies 6,000 square miles of the surface area of Northern Botswana. The source of this great alluvial fan stems from the northern provinces of Angola, where the rains gather to form a mighty river that floods into the Delta on an annual basis and eventually runs dry in the Kalahari Desert.
Into the permanent swamp of the Okavango Delta, flows on average 11 billion cubic meters of water, this is enough water to suit the needs of an industrialized nation. The region is extremely flat, the gradient varying a mere 35 meters from the Panhandle in the north, to Maun in the south. It is so very flat it is rumored that the very large termite mounds are the highest landmarks in the Okavango Delta. It is said that termite mounds are the starting points of the Delta Islands. Through evaporation transpiration, salts are deposited on the periphery of the mounds base. Over a period of thousands of years, the process is repeated and in so doing, an island is born. An estimated 97% of the water that enters the delta is lost under the hot Botswana sun.
Arrive at one of the Delta's most remote camps -neighbouring the Moremi Game Reserve in the south-east of the Okavango Delta, Chitabe Concession is 28 000 hectares of a multiplicity of habitats, from savannah to tree-filled islands and floodplains. All this makes for amazing wildlife sightings.
Chitabe Lediba is small, intimate - just right as a private camp for small groups or families; its two family units have adjoining bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms. All five spacious Meru-style tents are built on raised decks. En-suite bathrooms complement the outdoor shower "with a view." A dining area, lounge and pool have glorious views over the surrounding floodplains and a small lediba (remnant lagoon that has become a waterhole), after which the camp is named, where game comes to drink during the day. Morning and afternoon game drives explore the area and its denizens, the evening drive usually returning after dark so as to get a chance at spotting the shyer nocturnal animals such as genet, civet, serval, porcupine and possibly aardwolf. Wildlife seen here includes elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and cheetah. Wild dog are also sometimes found in the area. Guests should also see zebra, tsessebe, giraffe, kudu and impala. Two hides can be used as a "sleep out" experience as well as a game viewing platform during the day. Apart from good numbers of Lion and Buffalo, herds of Elephant feed on the islands and Hippo concentrate in deeper channels. Tsessebe and Blue Wildebeest dot the plains, while Red Lechwe are found on the wetter floodplain fringe. Duba Plains is known for the titanic clashes between Buffalo and Lion, and so a classic game drive is one that tracks down the truly enormous Buffalo herd to see if any Lion are also headed in that direction. 2 nights at Chitabe Lediba Camp (FI)
Day 5 & 6 Today we depart to the north-west of Botswana, we reach the heart of the Delta in the Moremi Game Reserve, which borders the western boundary of Chobe National Park in northern Botswana. Xigera Camp (pronounced Keejera) dwells on an island in the heart of the Delta in Moremi Game Reserve. Xigera is set in what is truly a wetland paradise, surrounded as it is by deep channels and lush riverine vegetation.
he region has all the habitat diversity to make it a heaven for wildlife, and is well-known for its Elephant concentrations as they congregate along the waterways and lagoons during the dry winter months. General wildlife viewing is excellent year round including impala, wildebeest, red Lechwe, Burchell's zebra, giraffe, Cape buffalo, Chacma baboon, Vervet monkey, and Warthog. Predator sightings of Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dog and Spotted Hyena are good.
The camp consists of ten luxuriously furnished tented rooms each with en-suite facilities and an outdoor shower. Raised on wooden platforms and walkways, each tent offers superb views of the seasonal floodplain and lagoon and a feel of living in the midst of a riverine forest. Meals and evening drinks are enjoyed in the lounge, pub and dining area overlooking a permanently flowing channel or under the stars in a traditional African boma. For those hot days there is a small plunge pool in which to cool off.
A mokoro ride is mandatory at this camp. On this traditional dug-out canoe, the only sounds are the rustling of the wind through the reeds, the lapping of the water against the boat, and the call of the African Fish-Eagle. The blue of the sky is mirrored in the water, broken only by large round water lily leaves and their stunning purple and white flowers.
Xigera is a delight for birdwatchers, with Pel's Fishing-Owl, African Skimmer, Slaty Egret, Wattled Crane and a host of raptors, other waterbirds and colorful kingfishers to be seen. An abundance of wildlife includes red lechwe, lion, spotted hyena, and leopard and the highest density of the rare sitatunga antelope in the Delta. 2 nights at Xigera Camp(Fl)
Day 7 & 8 Today we fly into the Kalahari. Jack’s Camp is a very private camp with amazing view of the tranquil area surrounding it. Ten green roomy and stylish canvas tents with en-suite bathrooms and indoor and outdoor showers (for those who want to feel the Kalahari breeze on their skin) have been fashioned in classical style and are set into a palm grove creating an oasis of civilization in what can be the harshest of stark environments. Persian rugs underfoot and cool cotton sheets form a striking contrast with the rugged wilderness viewed from the comfort of one’s own verandah.
During the wet season the landscape transforms. Clouds of flamingo and other migratory birds descend from the heavens to decorate the watery grasslands. Herds of zebra and wildebeest materialize, drawn by the lush grass, and for several months, the desert is teeming with game and predators. The Makgadikgadi is not without drama and, here, the emphasis is on observing the intricacies of a truly unique ecosystem which has added stylish adaptations of its own. 2 nights at Jack’s Camp (Fl) Day 9 & 10 On today’s flight we will see herds of Elephants, large numbers of Hippo, Lechwe, Impala and much more game in the Chobe National Park along the Chobe River before landing at Kasane. After immigration formalities we enjoy a very short scenic flight along the Zambezi River and over the Victoria Falls to Livingstone Airport in Zambia.
Overlooking the mighty Zambezi River and some of its islands is Toka Leya Camp situated inside the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park not far from Livingstone. Toka Leya Camp consists of 12 spacious en-suite safari-style tents. Wooden walkways snake between the units and main area, limiting our footprint on this pristine area. Buffalo herds roam between the tents at night grazing from the riverine vegetation. Tent interiors boast cool wooden flooring, tasteful, uncluttered African décor in earthy hues, climate-control for a cool summer sanctuary, expansive wooden deck from which to soak up the views of the Zambezi River, often to the sights and sounds of birds, Elephant and grunting pods of Hippo.
The islands in front of camp are intriguing and form part of the braided channel of the Zambezi River with several rapids, a main channel and dense vegetation. The eastern side and main area of camp is under a shady canopy of Jackalberry, Knobthorn and Waterberry trees. The western side is in a more open setting - an ancient baobab tree is the focal point and panoramic Zambezi vistas. 2 nights at Toka Leya Camp (Fl) Day 11 From Livingstone we depart to Windhoek to be in time for your connecting flight.
