At the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers lies Impalila Island, which is the peculiar meeting place of four African countries namely: Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. This phenomenon is the only one of its kind in the world and it is within this unique geographic area that the Ichobezi house boat operates. To cruise down the Chobe River in absolute luxury, sundowner in one hand, bird book in the other, is an incredible event! A popular excursion is to anchor at Elephant Bay, where their tender boats can take you on a fishing trip. As night falls, guests will be left with nothing other than the starry-lit skies, nearby elephants playing and hippos grunting!

The graceful Chobe River divides Namibia and Botswana and is characterized by abundant wildlife both within the river itself and on its` banks. On the Botswana side of the Chobe River is the famous Chobe National Park, teeming with game that come down to drink from the waters below. In this area guests can expect to see elephant, hippo, crocodile, buffalo, giraffe and numerous antelope.

Visit the Victoria Falls!

The Victoria Falls – Now in it’s 150 millionth fantastic year - Reaches Its zenith in about May each year. It’s a truly awe-inspiring experience – the sight, the sound, the smell; the humbling feeling that here indeed is Nature’s Supreme Masterpiece. No photograph can begin to depict the reality…and nothing prepares you for your first sight.

Dr Livingstone was the first European to see the Victoria Falls in 1855. Known locally as Mosi-Oa-Tunya or "the smoke that thunders" because of the spray made by the mass of water dropping 100 meters below in the gorges. Livingstone renamed the falls Victoria Falls in honor of Queen Victoria. 50 Years later, missionaries and traders settled in the small Zambian town of Livingstone and the railway bridge over the Zambezi was built.
